What to do & what to see
The houses are not isolated, but comfortably located at less than 1 km from the Medieval hamlet of Trisobbio. This small village has a restaurant, a wine bar/pizzeria and a 13th century castle.
Once a year, Trisobbio hosts the Fair of the White Truffle and of Dolcetto d’Ovada, a famous local wine, and it is also the place to go for daily shopping.
The culinary tradition of the area is one of the most prestigious in Italy, and numerous are the places that can be visited and that belong to ‘the wine route’.
The hosts will be very happy to suggest the best restaurants.
Nearby, there are also many tourist attractions:
Acqui Terme, 16 km away from the house, is an antique and very famous site for thermal cures, and offers numerous SPA and beauty services. 19 km away from the house there is the Golf Club of Villa Carolina with two championship routes of 18 holes set within a beautiful park; and at only 8 km away there is the horse riding club San Marco Riding.
8 km away from the house there is also Ovada, the nearest train station and a beautiful hillside town.
On the motorway A26, 10 km away (exit Ovada), and at less than an hour drive, there are Alessandria (36 km) and Genoa (60 km).
Milan (118 km) and Turin (124 km) are reachable in just over one-hour drive. There is also the chance to visit the unique Genoa Aquarium, the biggest one in Europe, as well as the famous Egyptian Museum of Turin could become unforgettable day trips.
The nearest airport is Genoa (52 km), about half an hour away, whereas Milan Linate (135 km), and Turin airport (162 km) are further away, at about one and a half hour away.
Having the car is the best way to enjoy the staying, but for those arriving by train or by plane we offer, at extra cost, a taxi service. Alternatively, three times a day there is a bus service that runs from Ovada or Aqui Terme and stops 30 metres away from the house.
The area offers beautiful walks with paths for different levels of abilities, by foot, horse or bike.
